NAV 2005 mini-firewall blocks UPnP

L

Leroy

MSN uses UPnP to open the firewall ports necessary for
file transfers, audio, whiteboard, video conferencing,
etc. Installing NAV 2005 blocks UPnP and makes these
Messneger functions unusable.
Suggestions?

You don't need to take that drastic route... I have NAV 2005 installed and I
added MSN to the "Program Control" list with internet access set to
"automatic". That way, it wouldn't bother me with disabling MSN's access.
Good luck!

Thanks.
Did that fix the video conferencing as well?

Here is a Symantec KB link I found as well:

20AntiVirus&ver=2005&src=sg&pcode=nav&svy=&csm=no for
Web conferencing or multimedia streaming software stops
responding after installing Norton AntiVirus 2005 .

I will try out both thanks again!

over Internet with NAV 2005 and a Linksys router using
UPnP, thank you again
