NAT Security

Andy Sheley

I have Network Address Translation running on a windows
2000 server to share an internet connection on the client
machines. The server also issues IP addresses with DHCP.
However, if I boot a computer up on the network, I can use
the internet connection without logging into the network
buy using a local account on the PC. Is their a way to
secure NAT on the server so only logged in authinticated
users can use the connection? I've gone into RRAS but I
don't find any security settings like you would on other
things (Network Shares, Files, etc..)

Thanks.

Hi Andy,

RRAS NAT does not include any security funtions like this. A product like
ISA Server can allow/deny access to the Internet.
