NAT & Internet access

Michael Balenzano

Hi,
I've got a client running a small network (6 computers)
using Active Directory. The Server acts as a DC, DHCP,
WINS server.

We've installed a second NIC to get an ADSL connection
going and shared, which of course requires NAT.

I have followed the MS instructions as per Knowlege Base
Article 299801,310357 and 300851.

Unfortunately, it does not seem to function for me.

The Internal NIC is the private LAN connection, the
second NIC is labelled WAN and configured for DHCP, the
ADSL modem from the provider has also installed PPP and
has it's own connection (through the WAN card).

When I set up NATing with the Public Network being the
ADSL Modem and the Private Network being the LAN, I can't
get translation to happen ....

Help, what am I doing wrong ??

Mike

Sounds like you need to create a demand dial connection for the PPPoE
connection.
