Nascar Racing 2003 Season-Sierra games

I have been to Sierra,Compaq support, to try to get some
insight to why my system reboots, immediately following
the intro sequence. My system goes well beyond the system
requirements, and have updated every driver that has one
to update. I have shut down unnesessary background and
startup programs, and gone as far as resetting the
virtual memory limits at highest levels. I keep coming
back to the same result-into-reboot-no error message, and
just an opinion, that I will have to accept Sierra's
offer of a refund. Oh, by the way, I also have the 2002
version of the game, that works fine for a time, then the
screen gets jumpy. I also decided to almost give up on
Sierra games because I have EA Sports Nascar Thunder
2003, that has higher system requirements, and runs like
a finely tuned Cup car. Any suggestions???

Hi car2dlr,

Your system is most likely restarting as a result of a STOP error.
To stop this behavior and to analyse the error, try the steps in
this article: http://www.mvps.org/marksxp/windowsxp/bsod.htm

If the error indicates a file name that begins with ati, or nv (nVidia)
the most likely solution would be to install the latest drivers* using
the instructions at: http://mvps.org/nibblesnbits/Video.html#drivers

However car2dlr, since you've already updated drivers, you may
want to reinstall them again using my method at that link, and then
try the troubleshooting steps I offer as well. This might be one of
those situations where you need an older driver, or a newer chip-
set driver in order to get that game to work. Make a restore point
before making any changes though. How to use System Restore:
