Naomi is an advanced internet filtering program, easy to use and totally
free, intended for families, and kids in particular.

Naomi is able to constantly monitor all internet connections, protecting
children from inappropriate online material - such as obscene or violent
contents; pornography, pedophilia and erotism in the form of images or
texts; sites that popularize drugs; gambling games; terrorism; hate
propaganda; occultism; sects; blasphemy, etc.

Naomi does not rely on a simple list of banned sites; instead, it
examines in real-time all the data being transmitted and received
through any internet application - such as web browers, chat programs,
news readers, etc.

The filtering technology employed in Naomi features:

Heuristic analysis capable of recognizing new material automatically.
Semantic analysis of web pages contents and analysis of their addresses
and links.
Recognizes all the major languages (10+).
Recognizes ICRA labelling system.
Monitoring is not limited to web sites, but covers the whole local
internet traffic.
Works with all service providers and software applications, and does not
alter settings.
Allows blocking of file-sharing applications.
Password-protected (the password is chosen during the installation).
Easy to use: does not require configuration.
Can be used on slow connections (it does not perform any download in
background).

Why all the name changes?

Hello,
his links are useful, the strange is this name-changing

I would prefer some useful compilation, "5 PDF tools"
for example, along with some opinion on all the tools,
some judgment. All this postings on all this little tools,
that claim to be freeware does not help me judging, what
is good, what i need.

And most of all, with all this mass posting I find it hard
reading this group and find the relevant posts where real
people ask for real help.

Regards,
Thorsten

Why should anyone do the work for you? You want to judge the merits of
programs then download them yourself and try them out. No one has a clue
what you need and what works for you. Do the legwork yourself. Have a
nice day!

this must be the reason for your anonymous and ever changing
names: ignorance. Your doing is, even if meant as helpful,
disturbing this group in making it massivly hard to read.

There is a german proverb:

"Das Gegenteil von gut ist gut gemeint"

(The opposite of good is well meant.)

It's a little flooding tantrum. He forgot to take his Ritalin again. On
the bright side, it's an excellent opportunity to practice killfile syntax.

Thanks Thorsten. That's a wonderful proverb. Well meaning people
sometimes do a great deal of harm.

Hello,
Doch whol eher, "The opposite of good is meant good".

maybe, I'm no native speaker. But you should write "wohl"
and a colon instead of a comma (or simply nothing instead).

;-)

It's not ignorance. Tramp changes his name in order to avoid being
filtered. His goal is to disrupt the group, since he doesn't like
discussions of things like whether nagware should be recommended here.

The nagware discussions are confined to a few threads, and people seem
to still be able to ask questions and get answers just fine until Tramp
cranks up. Before he started having these fits, he used to participate
in helping people.

Participate he did, in a way.
Also "participated" in my killfile since '04. :)

I cannot follow this logic, I dislike his mass postings not only
because they may include programs not exactly "freeware". His
mass posting with changing senders make it difficult to recognice
other posts with real problems from real people. And when they
get less helpful answers I think that's too bad. What do you
think this group is for?

My point on other things like nagware is, that it should at
least be mentioned clearly, when the "freeware" (I assume every
program mentioned in here as such) is limited and how. Does he?

I agree with you.

No, he doesn't. His position is that it's ok for him to just post
whatever text he finds on an app's website. He used to put this
disclaimer at the end of each of his posts:

"ATTENTION: The site(s), program(s) above MIGHT
contain Adware, Spyware, Shareware or other
such things that some find objectionable."

But FWIW, he did say he tries to avoid posting spyware.

Seems to me you dont have a problm reading and posting to the useful
complaints people always post when they dont like someone.its a
freeware news grooup just click n read not happy go to next feed.dont
like the person killfile them.do your own testing see if ya like
things you get told about or not.sheesh its a computer how lazy can we
get?. i been reading this for many years and hardly post .i choose to
just ignore the stuff i dont like and move on. simple solution. just
my 2 cents wont say no more.
