naming slides

Hi All,

Running PP 2002. I have several slides with my own pictures as the
background. These are set up so as to show the whole picture (maps and
charts) over the whole slide. The slide is the blank slide, so there is no
title area. Is there a way to name these slides? I need to hyperlink to
some of them and the dialogue box to do this lists the slides like

1. Title for my presentation
2. Slide 2 (i.e. blank slide, it has no title)
3. Something meaningful ...

As I have several slides without titles it is becoming a bit of a drama to
easily choose the correct slide to link to. I tried to add a title area,
then choose a font colour that represents the background. It's OK on slides
where there's lots of white (I make sure the title is on the white area) but
not on most of my pictures. I tried to look for a transparent font colour
but couldn't find anything like that. At least, not under font/more
colours.

Thanks,

Fiona Nelson

Right-click the offending slide, select "Slide layout", click the "Title
Only" option, type your Slide Title, click the bottom border of the Title
Placeholder and drag it off the top of the slide. The name will appear in
hyperlinking windows but not in Slide Show Mode (since it is off the slide).

Fiona,

FWIW, changing the name of the slide wouldn't work in this case; Bill's
suggestion will.

Thanks Bill,

It worked like a charm. I use Word a lot so the concept of dragging
something off the page, yet it still being linked is a little alien - I'll
have to keep remembering "PP is not Word".

Thanks again.
