Naming a Computer from the information in the Bios

I image using Norton Ghost. I was wondering if it was possible to reference
the Bios on a Dell machine and get the service tag number. Once I get the
service tag I would like to compare it to a database or list located on the
workstation and name the computer based on the name that is next to it's
service tag. This will speen up my imaging process greatly but I don't know
if it is possible and I can not find anything on it. Please contact me if you
need more of an explanation.

To: "WellOfCourse" I have about 8 Dell Computers, one of the last one a Dell
Lattitude D810 Laptop, which I'm using to message you right now.
The easy way to get the "Service Tag Number" or "Express service code is to
just look for the sticker tag on the Case side or Back. On some of my
Dimension Desk Top Models, they also have a hinged access door on the front
to access, Earphone & USB connections. They also have the machine "Tagged"
there.
If all that doesn't locate it for you, try going to the following location
on your machine, with it turned on, and ready to go: Click on the <START>
button, in the lower left hand corner. Then click <'ALL PROGRAMS">. Select,
and click on <DELL ACCESSORIES>, (not the just dell file). Select, and click
on <EXPRESS SERVICE CODE>. This field will give you the "SERVICE TAG"
(number), along with the "Express Service Code"

I hope this helps, Chuck, K602.
