Named Ranges (transfer to a new workbook)

Using XL 2003 & 97

Workbook "A" has 10 named ranges. I like named ranges because they are
dynamic in XL. Thus, if the cell range changes (I think) my VBA code does
not have to change.

Worksheet "Criteria Sheet" in WB "A" has the data currently used to define
the 10 named ranges. The ranges are NOT sheet-level.

If I copy a worksheet (that has the data for the 10 ranges) from WB "A" to
WB "B" my guess is that the updated ranges will not move to WB "B" - unless
they are sheet-level ranges?

If so, do I need to change to sheet-level? What are the drawbacks?

What is the smartest way to transfer Named-Ranges?

TIA

Dennis,

If you copy a sheet that the name refersto, or that references the name, the
name should go across as well (although in the latter case, it will refer to
another workbook).

If you change it to a sheet level name, it is more difficult to use, but if
the name is always pre-pended with the sheet you should be okay.
