Name Server

Hello!

We host our own external DNS server with approximately 20 zones. We have an
off-site ISP we use for our zone transfers. My question is, on the
Properties Tab of each individual zone, should OUR DNS server be listed or
only the server to which the zone is transferred? I'm wondering if a zone
should be transferred to the server that hosts is anyway.

Thanks!

We host our own external DNS server with approximately 20 zones. We have

Do you mean the ISP has a 'secondary' DNS server that also
services the zones and therefore needs to transfer them?

Zone transfer ONLY need to be enable/allowed to secondary
DNS servers (and DNS management workstations perhaps)
for that zone.
My question is, on the
Properties Tab of each individual zone, should OUR DNS server be listed or
only the server to which the zone is transferred?

Normal case is to list EVERY DNS server for the zone.
Primary DNS server (or AD Integrated Server 'set') plus
all Secondaries.
I'm wondering if a zone
should be transferred to the server that hosts is anyway.

It must be transferred to every DNS server that serves that zone
so I suspect you are asking something else.

It NEVER needs to be transfered to a server that isn't running DNS
or which does NOT have that zone configured.
