I have WinXP. I have some folders I keep on my desktop that aren't
programs themselves, but that contain frequently used programs. One, for
instance I've named "My Programs". It used to show in the Taskbar simply
as My Programs. I had a man working on my computer this past week, and
now it shows as the entire path name, i.e. C:\Documents and
Settings\Administrator\Desktop\My Programs. Needless to say, it doesn't
show all that, so if I have another such folder also open, I can't tell them
apart when they are both minimized and in the Taskbar. The computer man
can't figure what he might have done to change it, nor is he able to change
it back. Does anyone have a solution?

I'm not exactly clear on your issue, but you should be able to change the name
by Right clicking on it > select "Rename" in the popup menu and either delete
the unwanted text or retype the name you want.

If that doesn't bring joy try creating a new folder and copy the
files/shortcuts from the old to the new folder. If all goes well you can delete
the old folder.

Try this:
In Explorer Menu > Tools > Folder Options > View tab > Under Files and
Folders, click to uncheck "Display full path in the tile bar" > Apply , will
take effect immediately > OK.

Wonderful! That did it; thank you SO much!
