Name Change

We have Exchange 2003 and Outlook (2000 & 2002) on our PCs. To accomodate a
newly married employee, we established an account for her new name. we then
added that mailbox to her profile. It took but then would not open. We have
done this on other PCs with no problem. Her PC has Outlook 2000.

Boomer JM,

I have a similar setup here. What I usually do is just change the
person's name in Active Directory and add the new email address(es) to
that original user profile.

But in your case, I wonder if the existing user account has rights to
that new account. Can you open the new account in your Outlook?

That is what we did in the past. But there is a way to add an additional
Mailbox to an existing profile. We have done this in the past month in other
cases without a problem. This time, the added mailbox shows in the Folder
view, but will not open. ??????????

Depending on your version, Control Panel->Mail Icon->View or Change->mail
accounts->highlight your Exchange account->Change=>more Settings->advanced.
Add the mailbox there.

My problem is not with the process to add the additional mailbox. It showed
in the Folders. But it would NOT open, giving some generic message that said
nothing. Does anyone have an idea why it would not open?
