Mystery!

Hey i use outlook 2002, when u compose a new message , just above the TO
field, there is drop down for OPTIONS. when it opens it has option of FROM.

Its quite interesting as i see from here that u can actually send a mail to
anyone using the FROM id. The recieptent's inbox would display the FROM id
instead of urs. And in my sent items it shows, Sent by ME on behalf of FROM
ID.

If u make sense out of this, try it once preferably on ur your own email
id's. Now i was wondering if someone send me mail like this, how can i
actually make who the ACTUAL SENDER is?
Got any idea!

Lemme know!

You have to examine the sender address in the Internet headers.

Hello Brian, talking about internet headers: if someone tries to fake
internet headers is any way to translate the SMPT-id, and message-id codes to
show the real sender, date or time?

The ID fields are just strings of characters and bear no relationship to the
time or sender.
