Mystery Search Engine Results

I'll try this question from another angle. I want my web page to
appear in Google just like this web page does www.w7yrc.org
If you search for w7yrc in Google, you will get this exact result:

Yavapai Amateur Radio Club
Includes club pictures, newsletter, and meeting times and location.
www.w7yrc.org/ - 6k - Cached - Similar pages

Yet, those specific words, "Includes club pictures, newsletter, and
meeting times and location" do not appear in the html for the page. I
have asked the webmaster of that site how he did that, and he doesn't
have a clue. How is it possible for Google to find (create?)
something that doesn't exist? Does Google ad lib? Note that the
search results in position no. 1 in Google.

He is using FP2000.

My guess. It pops up 1st because it was listed way back when you could
actually send in a request for a listing and it was read and acted on.
The site was then updated regularly so that the original listing never
dropped off the spider, therefore the description is still the same as
the original emailed in listing request..

Do you have a better call?

I seriously doubt that. It may pop up first because the the search phrase is
both unusual and a direct match for the site name.

The results are the description "Includes club pictures, newsletter, and
meeting times and location." are
from the human-edited directory site "DMOZ.org". (Basically, a bigger,
better Yahoo not run by corporate hacks but rather volunteers and experts in
the subject catagories.)

Got to www.dmoz.org, DRILL DOWN TO AN APPROPRIATE CATEGORY and submit your
site. In 1 day to 6 months someone (a volunteer editor) will visit, and
either list it there or list it in a more appropriate category and list it.

Google scrapes the database (anybody can for free, many search sites take
all or a portion of the database to use) to include in their search results.
Google has some sort of mysterious system for weighing what DMOZ does, but
from what I can tell it's pretty high as it's human edited and not a
trick-able automatic bot. That's how you are seeing the phrase along with
the search results.

DMOZ is a fairly important force behind the scenes of search listings. It's
worthwhile reading about in their help files.

(You can also volunteer to edit a category and help add listings.)
