Mysterious W with LIne through it

From time to time, I have a W with a line though it showing up in my address
bar or as part of my text. I didn't see this before I added Korean as an
additional language. I have since removed it but I still see this character.
Sometime when I'm on a web site I see Korean characters.

Anyone know the problem?

Rightclick a browser page that shows that, and look at the 'encoding'
settings, to reset it to "Western European"
