Whenever my internet Explorer is open and the
term "domain name" or "domain names" appears on any page,
it is underlined as a hyperlink. This happens even if I
am not connect to the internet, and even if my internet
cache is cleared out.

When I right-click one of these links and select
properties the "Type" is reported as:
COM/?GO=DOMAIN+NAMES File

When hovering the mouse over the hyperlink, the status
bar says "goto: domain name" or "goto: domain names" and
if you click the hyperlink, momentarily in the status bar
you will see URL's such as "go-advertising.com/?
go=domain+name" or "go-all.com/?go=domain+name" or "get-
data.net/?go=domain+name"

Then there is an automatic redirect to "runsearch.com/?
go=domain+name" which is a search page showing the
results of the search.

I can even simply open MS word and type a sentence with
the term "domain name" in it, and then preview it as a
web page, and the mysterious hyperlink is there.

I have reset all my MS Office registry settings to
default, run Norton Anti-virus, cleared all my cookies
with Window Washer, and also run Pest Patrol, yet the
hyperlink is still always present.

I cannot understand the source of these unwanted
hyperlinks appearing in my browser.

Please help.

Download a copy of Lavasoft's Ad-aware 6. It's a
spyware/adware hunting program. I'll see if I can find a
URL. Before you run it, make sure you click the 'Check for
updates' on its loadup page.

So it is a pest still resident in the machine. I thought
Pest Patrol is supposed to be excellent for finding and
eliminating these things. Not so, I suppose.

I will check out Ad-Aware. Thank you.
