Hello,

Does anyone which provider should be used when connecting to a MySQL
database.

Hi

Use eInfoDesigns.dbProvider:
http://www.einfodesigns.com/default.aspx

Connection String:
"Data Source=server;Database=mydb;User
ID=username;Password=pwd;Command Logging=false"

This one is used with eInfoDesigns dbProvider, an add-on
to .NET
