mysql and php script in fp

Pam

I'm on a unix server which supports mysql and phpmyadmin and I've already
set up phpbb a long time ago - so Iknow it works and everything - I want to
now add a grafx software script called rating so that I can add the script
to some of the pages and have people rate the articles on the pages. I've
created a directory in my fp2003 website called rating and imported all the
files into that directory. I've uploaded the directory to my server. I've
gone into phpmyadmin and created a database called rating - but I don't have
a clue how to get the rating files INTO the database??? or how to get the
particular pages in the website that I wanted rated to include the script.

I've searched for 2 days trying to find an answer to this - can someone help
me or point me in the right direction?'

thanks!

I'm sure we're missing some info. What is the rating app that you are
adding? Do you have a URL for the script developer that we can look at?

you would have to write the php/sql code to write the data to the database, but
FP won't do this. You'd need an editor for developing PHP/MySql I would think.

www.hotscripts.com has code, and utilities (programs/editors) for this purpose.

Pam,

Your best bet is to check with the script developer for installation
instructions. They have a forum here:
http://www.grafxsoftware.com/forum/

The fact that you're using FrontPage to manage your site is kind of a red
herring, here. What you really need to know is how to include commands into
your own pages so that stats are logged, and the developers, or members of
their user community, are going to be the right people to answer that for
you.

I also noticed that they offer script installation for $15. Check out the
info inthe red box on the product page:
http://www.grafxsoftware.com/product.php/Star_Rating_System_2.0/8/

Hope that helps,

this seems (on first glance) to assume that a database exists.

what are you actually trying to do anyway?
