my yahoo bizarre blank page done

utterly bizarre... bear with me...

i have three (cable modem to wireless router - one hardwired, 2 wireless)
computers all running Windows XP, IE6, same antivirus, and application set,
all service packs and patches applied...

i've already bypassed the router and reset both the modem and the router...
i've re-registered all the .dll's such as urlmon, etc. as recommended in
other posts on the blank page done topic...

i've cleared the cache, history, temp files, etc. and the problem
persists... reset security settings and activeX settings to the defaults,
re-installed windows scripting, unset auto select and http 1.1, and a few
other things, again, as suggested in various posts here and at links to MVP
pages and knowledge base articles...

from yahoo.com i try to log into a MY Yahoo account on any of the three
computers... i can log into My Yahoo accounts for several yahoo users, but 2
specific users return a BLANK PAGE and the status bar says "done"... i don't
have
any trouble browsing any other pages...

Examples below of the View Source results...

If anyone has ANY IDEA what's going on or how to fix it, please let me know...

THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

more bizarre...

the only line of code in the failed load example "....
compressed/chunked...." is the LAST line in the code example that DOES
work... preceded by 100+k of code that is loading...

AND...

it's possible to log on to the failing my yahoo account pages at computers
outside these three (in another state actually) with very similar
configurations...

any ideas ????????????

Hi,
A few things you might try:

1. Try deleting the Temporary Internet Files folder for the affected user
account. Login as another user with administrator privileges, or from the
machine's default administrator account (startup in safe mode) and delete
the affected TIF folder from Windows Explorer. Repeat for the History
folder.

2. Have you checked for a troublesome BHO or malware?
Start with BHO Demon http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm
See these sites for additional help:
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
Also note the security tips and other important information on that page.

3. Try creating a new user account:

Thanks Don... I understand and I'll try these... note that I'm running MS
Anti-Spyware Beta on all but one of the machines... I'll follow up on each of
these, but I don't think that's it... It might take a day or two, but I'll
let you know which, if any work...

Thanks again... t

I'm having exactly the same problem and I tried everything you tried.
I tried contacting Yahoo, but got no response so far. The funny thing
is that even though that one my.yahoo account comes up blank, my other
my.yahoo account comes up ok at the same computer. And the account
that comes up with a blank page allows me to get into the blog and
instant messenger ok. Strange.

Don,

I've looked at the malware issue and there's nothing significant there...
before I proceed with deleting the folders I wanted to give you more
information and see if you still suggest that as something to try...

I logged in as another user on one of the computers and the page loaded
properly... I logged out of that user and back onto the user that's been
giving me fits, and the page loaded properly there...

I did a refresh on the page, and it returned the same old blank page/done
thing and has been down ever since...

Now doesn't this point to YAHOO and the distributed serving up of these
pages, and not specifically to my computers and user settings ?? It's just
unstable and unpredictable, and I thought there might be some time-out,
cache, or other registry setting that might be more likely to help than
deleting folders ?? I was wondering too... you meant delete the FOLDERS and
not just the files, because I've cleared those files repeatedly to no
result...

Please let me know, and again, THANKS !!!!!! t

well THANKS Robert... I don't know WHY it works, but it sure does...
<wondering if yahoo will fix it and then it won't>... we'll see and thanks
again !!

i started having the same problem about three days ago. it works from
one computer and not from another. sometimes it starts working again
and then it inexplicably stops. this works every time though:

I was wondering too... you meant delete the FOLDERS and
not just the files, because I've cleared those files repeatedly to no
result...

Please let me know, and again, THANKS !!!!!! t

Hi,
A few things you might try:

3. Try creating a new user account:

utterly bizarre... bear with me...

i have three (cable modem to wireless router - one hardwired, 2 wireless)
computers all running Windows XP, IE6, same antivirus, and application
set,
all service packs and patches applied...

i've already bypassed the router and reset both the modem and the
router...
i've re-registered all the .dll's such as urlmon, etc. as recommended in
other posts on the blank page done topic...

i've cleared the cache, history, temp files, etc. and the problem
persists... reset security settings and activeX settings to the defaults,
re-installed windows scripting, unset auto select and http 1.1, and a few
other things, again, as suggested in various posts here and at links to
MVP

from yahoo.com i try to log into a MY Yahoo account on any of the three

Wow, that works on my computer too? Why couldn't Yahoo tell me that?
By the way, how did you figure that out?

....
2 specific users return a BLANK PAGE and the status bar says "done"

Here is an excerpt from a reply I recently gave someone else who was
reporting a similar problem. In that case the source was pretty simple
but unusually indented. In your case the source looks pretty complicated
which I imagine could similarly confuse third-party programs which might
attempt modifying it in filters for whatever reason.

<excerpt>

Try some diagnosis?

Simple thing first in case it is just a coloring problem: press Ctrl-a
(Select All causes reverse video of whatever colors are being used.)
What do you see? Also what happens if you then press Ctrl-c
and paste the result into a Notepad window?

Is it a problem with encoding? E.g. do you have Auto-select checked
and is Western European (Windows) being selected? (Alt-V,d)

Next, use the Accessibility dialog to disable the website's use of color
and fonts in case either of those attributes is a problem on your machine.
(Alt-T,O,Alt-e,c,s)

Do you have any software (e.g. "security" app) which would be interfering
with the HTML coding? There are large indentations in the code which
might confuse such an app's parser and thus cause it to modify it invalidly.
Try temporarily disabling such software to test this case (making sure
that you then have at least the XP firewall in place doing port blocking.)

I have a similar problem.
I have the same trouble logging into MyYahoo.I tried 2 different PCs and

tried Firefox and IE.I also cleaned out the History, etc.I ran 2 spyware
checkers too.
The problem seems to be sporadic.Occasionally I can log in to
MyYahoo. But I also noticed that I can always get my yahoo email and
fantasy football page.
If, from the yahoo email page,I select Yahoo, not MY Yahoo, the yahoo.com
page will show me a signed in.If I then try the MyYahoo link I get the
blank page again.
I assumed it was a problem at Yahoo.
