My office 2000 prof has WORD program running on Win 2000 pro.. While I see
help, print preview etc on Excel, I get no such view on Word. What is
missing? All I can see is open, close, maximize or minimize!

I think you are referring to the menu bar? If that's the case this is
caused by a little corruption in the Registry. This article provides
the instructions you need to correct the problem:

Thanks Beth! I was able to get the missing menu on WORD 2000 by deleting the
registry key you pointed. The simple winword/a did not work as the system
complained the path is wrong even when I went to the actual path! So using
regedit, it was possible to go down the route you suggested and I deleted
everything associated with the key. Reboot and the menu returned. Surprising
how much a single line under the Word logo can do so much!

I won't worry you as to why the EXCEL etc worked OK with their menu!

Keep up the good work. Incidentally the Office was updated to SP3 and the
upgrade did not cure the menu problem. Good week end!
