hi just got vista and it installed fine installed GFX drivers and sound
Drivers but every 10 or so mins vereythign just stops computer is still on i
can see teh desktop still but i can do nothing can any one help plz thx...

Is it an upgrade or a Clean Installation?
What version of Windows Vista?
32bit or 64 bit?
Did Windows Vista come with the computer or another operating system?
Does it freeze, or is it taking a very long time?
Did it start right away or was other software or hardware installed?

Make sure all your hardware is designed for Windows Vista and you have
Windows Vista drivers.

its was a clean installation
Windows Vista unlimited
its the 32 bit
it didn't come with the computer i got it from the shop
it just freezes i left it for about 20 mins and it was still frozen
it started refreezing right away so when i installed sound drivers and gfx
drivers it still happened

sound drivers and gfx drivers are vista one

Go to the website of your hard drive manufacturer and get their hard
drive diagnostics.
Run a memory test:
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
Run it non stop for at least 2 hours.

Have you verified with the manufacturers of all your hardware that it
is all Windows Vista compatible.

Also run the Upgrade Advisor:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pr...advisor.mspx?wt_svl=10008VHa1&mg_id=10008VHb1
Remember it is an advisor only, you still may need to verify results.
Pay particular attention to anything that suggests problems.

Normally you boot to the memory test media so the operating system is
irrelevant.

also do i need to run Upgrade Advisor in vista to

i ran it in Xp only thing it had a problem with was teh sound card it said
it will need to vista drivers iv got vista drivers installed on my vista

Also do u run Upgrade Advisor in vista becaus ei ran it in Xp and only thing
it had a problem with was the sound card sayign it will need vista drivers
installed but iv iv got vista drivers installed

If the sound card was the only item with issues and that was drivers,
as far as the Upgrade Advisor goes, you should be OK.
But if you want to be sure, the Upgrade Advisor should run in Windows
Vista.
However there is more to hardware than sound and video cards.
You may need a BIOS update for your motherboard.
Check on your network card if separate, also check on any other
hardware connected to the computer.
In all those cases, you need to check with the specific hardware
manufacturer.

Ok thx for all the help iv look on my motherboard manufacturer site and
there are no vista drivers so im takign it my motherboard is not meant for
vista:(

Maybe, but that may be the source of your problems.
Contact the manufacturer.
Try to locate others using the same board and see what they say.
Some hardware manufacturers have user forums on their site.
