Everytime i try to go into system restore i get an error message saying that
"System Restore has been turned off by Group Policy. To turn on System
Restore, contact your Domain Administrator."

Please help me!!!!!!!!! THANKS!

On restart or start-up,tap the F8 key, select safe-mode,then enter xp in
administrative account,in xp,R.click my computer,properties,sytem restore,
select,turn on system restore,close out,restart computer.

Ok, I did all that but when i clicked on properties of my computer, there was
no system restore tab.

Hi,

Open Registry Editor and navigate to:

HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
NT\SystemRestore

In the right-pane, delete the value "DisableConfig".
Close Registry Editor
Close and re-open the System Restore properties page.

Hi,

I deleted the"DisableConfig". value the System properties page is still not
accessible after selecitng propeties when after clicking on my computer and
selcting properties. The same message displays when system restore is
selected, ie "System Restore has been turned off by Group Policy. To turn on

Hi Alan,

In Regedit highlight My Computer in the left pane and press Ctrl+F and
do a search for DisableConfig and delete it also. It may also be
located in another area in the registry.

Alan,

Meanwhile:

Delete the "DisableSR" value as well.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SystemRestore

Policies - Description:

"DisableSR"
- Determines whether System Restore is turned on or off.

"DisableConfig"
- Allows you to turn off the Configuration Interface for System Restore.
