My prompt is "Access is Denied Files are Read Only How can I save

Dear Friends:
I have an abundance of P.P. Files that I want to save I cannot access them
nor can I open them to view them. How can I change the attributes of these
files so as to save them or view them? I cannot E mail my files also because
I get Access Denied prompt.

My P.P. Files are just on my Hard Drive (HD) and are not usable at all.

I'd first power down the PC totally, wait five minutes, then restart it.
Then verify that you can copy one or two of the files from one folder to
another on your HDD.

If not, it could indicate a problem with the HDD.

If you can copy them, doubleclick one of them ... do you get an error message?
If so, what's the *exact* text of the message?
