My PowerPoint charts suddenly disappeared, leaving words

I was manually saving a 40 page PowerPoint presentation with charts on 39
pages. Suddenly the screen showed the charts without any numbers. Then when I
scrolled through, all charts were gone, replaced by a dot. Help. Any
suggestions.

Close the file, don't save any changes, and re-open it. Are the charts back?
