My Pictures Slideshow Screen Saver

I use My Picture Slideshow for a screen saver. When I click to return to an
active desktop it takes between 30 seconds and 1 minute to display the
desktop. Why so long. What can I do to reduce this to the few seconds I
believe it should take. My PC is a new Dell XPS 410 with Dual Core and 2 Gb
RAM.
