My Pictures Folder

Can I move the "My Pictures" folder from the C:drive to
the D:drive without causing problems? If so, how?

No problem doing this and you can reverse it any time you want.
Click on My Computer and navigate to My Pictures folder. Click on it to
select it (highlight in blue). Look at the menu on the left under File and
Folder Tasks and click on Move this folder. A window will open, navigate to
your D drive to select it and click on the Move button at the bottom of the
window.
If you want to move it back, you simply select it again and move it under My
Documents.
