My Outlook cant open Excel files. How do I fix this?

Whenever I try to open an Excel file, I get the message 'The system cannot
find the file specified'. Is there any way to change the setup of Outlook to
correct this issue?

Well, you mention having Outlook but never mention if you actually have
Excel installed. Was Outlook a separate product? Was it part of MS
Office? If part of MS Office, did its Excel component get installed?

Just what is the extension of the attached file in the e-mail? Maybe
you installed another program that usurped that filetype and then
uninstalled it but the filetype association got left behind for that
program rather than re-associating it back to Excel.

What happens when you save the attached file to your hard drive and then
double-click on that saved file?

Shouldn't you use Excel to open an Excel file?
