I have the following spec:

Asus A7N8X Deluxe Motherboard Ver 2.0
AMD XP2600+ 333Mhz FSB - Thoroughbred
2 x 512 MB Samsung PC2700, 333mhz
Sapphire Radeon 9200 128MB DDR TV-Out DVI-Out

What I would like to know, as a novice to Over clocking this setup,
what parameters should I be setting, And the safe temperatures of this
system, currently MB is about 25C and the CPU around 50C Do I need a
new fan?

Current Bios Settings:-

CPU External Freq. (MHZ) [166 MHz]
CPU Frequency Multiple Setting [Auto]
CPU Frequency Multiple 12.5x
System Performance [Agressive]
CPU Interface Optimal
Memory Frequency 100%
Resulting Frequency 166Mhz
Memory Timings Agressive
SDRAM Active Precharge Delay 7
SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay 3
SDRAM RAS Precharge Delay 3
SDRAM CAS Latency 2.5T
FSB Spread Spectrum Disabled
AGP Spread Spectrum Disabled
CPU Vcore Setting [Auto]
CPU Vcore 1.650V
Graphics Aperture Size [128MB]

Thanks

Before you start make sure you have the latest BIOS flashed and ready to go.
Make sure you get the correct version for your revision 2.0, go for 1006 or
1007.
I have the following spec:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe Motherboard Ver 2.0
AMD XP2600+ 333Mhz FSB - Thoroughbred
2 x 512 MB Samsung PC2700, 333mhz
Sapphire Radeon 9200 128MB DDR TV-Out DVI-Out

PC3200 (400Mhz) would be more suited to overclocking. That memory doesn't
leave much overhead, you may not be able to adjust the FSB, well, you will,
but everything might crash fairly quickly. I've left mine at 166 because it
flies as it is, no need to overclock any further yet!

Mine:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe (Revision 1.04, BIOS 1006)
AMD AthlonXP 2400+ @ 2800+ (TBred-B, 13.5 x 166, 1.7VCore)
Coolermaster X-Dream HSF
1Gb (2 x 512) Samsung PC3200 400Mhz DDR RAM Dual Channel
(M368L6423DTM/CC400)
Leadtek WinFast GeForce 4 Ti4200 128Mb (A250LE TD MyVIVO)
What I would like to know, as a novice to Over clocking this setup,

new fan?

I'm guessing that you're using the OEM fan (did it come in the box with the
processor?) in which case then yes, it may
be worthwhile to upgrade to something a little more powerful. I'm happy with
my X-Dream but there are a hundred better performing makes and models out
there.

My system run 53°C idle and 61°C under load UT2003 with every setting on
full. I can't remember if this can be set manually, but, when the CPU temp
on my system reaches 72°c or above, the system shuts itself down to prevent
overheating and CPU damage.
Current Bios Settings:-

CPU External Freq. (MHZ) [166 MHz]

Increasing that will be pushing the memory beyond spec... change at your own
risk.
CPU Frequency Multiple Setting [Auto]
CPU Frequency Multiple 12.5x

Try changing that to 13x, then maybe 13.5x and see what happens...
System Performance [Agressive]
CPU Interface Optimal
Memory Frequency 100%
Resulting Frequency 166Mhz
Memory Timings Agressive
SDRAM Active Precharge Delay 7
SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay 3
SDRAM RAS Precharge Delay 3
SDRAM CAS Latency 2.5T
FSB Spread Spectrum Disabled
AGP Spread Spectrum Disabled
CPU Vcore Setting [Auto]
CPU Vcore 1.650V

May need to push this up a little to gain stability if you increase the
multiplier, keep your eye on the temps though, you'd be surprised how such a
little increase in electricity can cause a hugh increase in heat.
Graphics Aperture Size [128MB]

Thanks
