On my HP laptop with Windows Xp in My Network Places window when I click the
Entire Network icon from Other Places group I get a blank windows instead of
having the Microsoft Windows Network icon and in Task Manager My Network
Places has the status Not responding. If I right-click the Entire Network
icon and select Open or Explore I am able to browse the network.
Can anybody help me with a solution?
Many thanks,
Gabi Petrescu.

Gabi,

Is the laptop on the same workgroup as the other computers?

Instead of right clicking and opening a new windows, what happens if you drill
down in that same window (expand the tree)?

Take a look at "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from the laptop, and from
one or two of the invisible computers, as a start. Read this article, and
linked articles, and follow instructions precisely:

my laptop is a client in windows domain and it is getting dynamic adresses
from the DHCP server.
I am able to see all my network using the commands Open or Explore from the
menu who appearswhen I right click the icon named Entire Network from the
left panel in the My Network Places window, but I cannot see the icon named
Microsoft Windows Network in the window named Entire Window when I click the
link named Entire Window from the left panel of the My Network Places. My
idea is thet it is something wrong with tre entrance in the Registry thet
govern this link.
Thank you again for your help,
Gabi Petrescu
