My Network Places/homepages

In My Network Places, when I used to double click `homepages`, I went straight
to a listing of the folders and html pages related to my website. I recently
updated my website and deleted all the old folders and html pages before
uploading the new ones. Now, when I double-click `homepages` there is a list of
folders entitled `docroot (in which my folders and webpages now reside),
docroot.old, errpages, logs, secure, stats, stats_secure`, and one file entitled
`users`.

The folders seem to refer to errors reported by my ISP, with messages such as
"Default homepage for/ Are you a visitor to this website? The website located
at this URL has either been removed or not currently been uploaded", together
with other information. I have been able to delete the folders` contents, but
when I try to delete the folders themselves, I received an error message : "An
error occurred deleting the file or folder on the FTP server. Make sure you have
permission to access this folder. 550 (folder name) Permission denied", although
I have Administrative privileges as the only user of the computer. I have also
tried deleting them in Safe Mode, but get the same message. I had hoped that I
could copy or move my webpages and folders from `docroot` to the root of
Homepages, but that won`t work either. I have contacted my ISP by email, but
they are very slow to respond, and as I don`t have a lot of faith in their
expertise either, I wondered if anyone here could tell me how to delete these
folders, please?

Many thanks
Kate

I have now been able to find out that all these irritating folders are supposed
to be there and are created by my ISP to help me manage my account. Sorry to
have posted unnecessarily.
