My navigation buttons dependent on Access navigation buttons?

I posted this question yesterday but didn't get a response that fixed the
problem.

i have a subform with navigation buttons (First, Previous, Next, Last) which
were created using the wizard so all the code is what Access gave me. On the
form I can still see Access' navigation buttons so I know what record I am
looking at (2 of 6 etc). The mainform is filtered to one record.

In order for my naviation buttons to work without getting the error "You
can't go to the specified record" I must first use Access' navigation
buttons. For example, I'll click my cmdNext and I'll get the error. Then I'll
hit Access' Next button and the subform will show the next record. Now if I
click any of my navigation buttons, they work.

I don't understand why I need to hit Access' buttons first.

Please help and thanks in advance.

Actually I just posted a similar question this morning, not yesterday! I
guess my day's been that long :p
