During the past few weeks .. has anyone experienced
problems with successfully opening their homepage? Been
using "http://my.msn.com" as my homepage since it was
first introduced .. with absolutely NO problems. Now it
opens with a BLANK white page - with the following code:

dy> (View in source shows dy></html)

Still shows my.msn.com in the toolbar .. and the only way
I can retrieve my customized homepage is to "refresh" the
page - and then everything displays as normal.

Have run "Spybot" several times and eliminated the
immediate threats. However, the same scenario begins all
over again after I have rebooted my PC several times. Any
assistance greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Helen

I've been getting the same thing, on mine usually displays y.msn'>here or something like that. It usually only happens the first time I use IE after turning on the computer, and refresh always brings the page up correctly. I vaguely recall that the first time it happened, the "here" was a hyperlink. I think I clicked it, and I'm wondering if that was a mistake

I've seen a few messages about the same problem, but so far no solution.

I think I have eliminated the problem. I ran Hijack This and looked for suspicious items in the log file. There were 5 browser helper objects (BHO) listed. One had no name and no file associated with it. After backing up that branch of the registry, I deleted the suspect key, and now my MSN homepage loads every time. The registry key I deleted is

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC}
