my dad bought the microsoft home edition for students and teachers and had it
able to be used for more then one computer well it keeps telling me
toregister it and now my word is locked and wont let me use it at all. HELP
ME!!

There is no such thing as "microsoft home edition for students
and teachers". Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition is an operating
system. Microsoft Office XP for Students and Teachers, and
Microsoft Office 2003 Students and Teachers Edition, are two
different versions of Microsoft Office. Office XP for Students
and Teachers can be installed on only one computer. Office 2003
Students and Teachers Edition can be installed on up to three
computers.

You are confusing Activation with registration. You must activate on each
computer, but you don't have to register unless you want to. Go to the Help
menu and choose Activate Product. You'll need the Product key from the cd
case. Get Dad to help.
