My messages are deleted when I close them when in my "in box" How.

I am using Microsoft Outlook 2000. When I go to my in-box and retrieve an
e-mail I X out or close the window or e-mail. Instead of savig the e-mail
inmy in-box it deletes the e-mail and I can no longer find it. It should just
save it in my in-box.
Anyone have an answer?

Probably someone in an Outlook newsgroup would; this newsgroup is for
a different program, Microsoft Access.

Do check to see if your View options are set to conceal read messages.
The message has almost surely not been deleted; it's just not being
shown.
