my HDDs show as the wrong size

i have 2 HDDs on one IDE channel one as the master one as
the slave one is 80gb(the master) the other is 120gb(the
slave) but they both read as 31.49gb
i have coverted the master from FAT32 to NTFS and tried
formating the slave to NTFS and it still reads as 31.49gb
i also updated my bios as i was told that might help but
it hasnt
im running xp home
please help

Given that you've started from the point where your HD have been formatted
as FAT32 that should be the issue. I seem to remember that some of the
responses to your previous post indicate just such an problem with XP, early
system BIOS and FAT32.

Simply converting an existing partition to NFTS will not change the size of
that partition.

After updating the BIOS you will either need to reformat and expand the
partition using a third-party utility, or delete the partition and reformat
as NFTS - dependent on whether it is a system partition or a data partition.
Following this procedure in any other way will not work.

Alternatively, delete everything and reformat and re-install on NFTS.
