My hard drive wont boot!!!!!!

Im on another'puta at the mo...cos the other one wont
boot! i get a blue screen saying "BOOT DRIVE UNMOUNTABLE"
Is that as bad as i think it sounds? anyone know whats
happened and if its fixable? seriously hope i can get it
to work again otherwise ill av lost loads of stuff!

Ross, it maybe a boot.ini file that needs fixing. Check here on how to do
it. You are primarily interested in the Bootcfg command.

hi can anyone give me more detailed instructions please.
What ive done so far is boot off the XP cd then ran system
recovery then chkdsk /r .....it found errors and fixed
them and i no longer get the blue screen saying "BOOT
DRIVE UNMOUNTABLE" However the HD still wont load
windows!!!! i get as far as the black screen saying XP
then it just stops and nothing happens

upon trying to run system recovery agen i NOW get

1. C:\WINDOWS

then im asked to select which version of windows...since
theres only 1 choice i type 1 but after i press enter
NOTHING happens. does it mean im screwed?

you need a DISK UTILITY from your HDD manufacturer

download and run on a freinds machine to create bootable
floppies this will get you access to master boot record.
