My email has disappeared from my Inbox

All email messages have disappeared from my Inbox. All of the other mail
folders are visible - deleted items, sent items. I can also see unread mail
but nothing appears in the Inbox.

They remain in the computer - I can search for a particular email and
retrieve it but I can't view them.
