Hi,

I have FrontPage 2000. My OS is WIN XP SP2. I have IE6. The Edit button
available in IE6's toolbar is now grayed out. I can no longer access it.

I have tried reinstalling FP2000, but no change.

I believe my registry may be corrupt since I'm also noticing other problems
with other programs.

Any suggestions?

Clear the Browser Temporary Internet Files.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your quick response, it's appreciated.

I deleted the temp interent files as you suggested. No go.

I uninstalled FrontPage 2000 and then reinstalled it. Still no go.

I uninstalled SP2 and reinstalled it. Still no go.

I check my Zone Alarm Program (firewall) and did all I can do to accept
FrontPage. Still no go.

It's been a long day of babysitting my pc while I uninstall, reboot,
reinstall, and reboot etc,.... I'm completely at a loss as to why I cannot
access the Edit button in IE6. I also cannot access "view source" either.

Thanks,

Noreen

You might want to run an anti-SpyWare application.

Hi Kevin and Steve,

I did remove some spyware that was detected after I installed a spyware
program. Once I rebooted after deleting the spyware, the " Edit" button was
accessible for about 1/16 of a second and then went to gray.

View Source still not working as well.

Still having problems,

Noreen

If in Win XP Try the MS spyware tool (and it's advanced tools) from

Hi Stephan,

I did as you suggested. The program found a bunch of spyware. I did as the
program instructed to delete or quarantine them. Despite all this, my Edit
button and my View Source still do not work in IE6.

As it would be, I having this same topic of discussion over at this MS
Message board for IE under the topic called "Edit button and View Source
problems" at this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...wser&mid=5d905a5d-c5a7-4bad-954c-4c85be1e9b3c

No one has able to help me there either.

Frustrated, but smiling.
