Bruce,
Which folder do you want to hide--the My eBooks folder or the My Documents
folder?
If you want to hide the My Documents folder:
1. Right-click on a blank area of the Desktop and click Properties
2. Select the Desktop tab
3. Click Customize Desktop
4. Select the General tab (if not already active)
5. Uncheck My Documents within the Desktop icons section
6. Click OK and OK again to exit to the Desktop
The My Documents folder should no longer appear.
Hiding just the My eBooks folder is a bit more complicated as the folder is
recreated when you load Adobe Acrobat Reader.
This is powered by a Adobe plugin 'ebook.api'. Upon starting Adobe Acrobat
Reader, it loads all the plugins under the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\Reader\plug_ins
NOTE: Perform the following only if you don't plan to use the eBook plugin
of Adobe Acrobat reader. You can undo the operation though.
If you don't want to see the My eBooks folder, follow this solution:
Move the file ebook.api to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\Reader\optional
Delete the My eBooks folder now.
(Thanks to MS-MVP Wesley Vogel for this solution, in the Microsoft Newsgroup)
At a later stage, if you again want to use the eBook plugin, revert it back
to the plug_ins folder.
I hope this helps.
