I have many many documents in "My Documents" - I am trying to find a way to
highlight the vital entries by colour coding the font.
Any suggestions

Better to create logically named folders and move the "vital" files into
their own folders. You can't color code individual filenames or folders.

You can change the icons but not the font color. To change the icon, right click the
folder-choose Properties and go to Customize tab.

Good Luck, Ayush.

Well, you could encrypt the unimportant ones (files and/or folders) so
they appear green. I'd chose to encrypt the *unimpotant* ones, as
problems sometimes lead to the complete loss of encrypted data.

You could compress others to turn them blue (I think, don't have much
use for this facility given the total size of my space).

I wonder if comprssed+encrypted ones are cyan?

This affect will mostly be visible only in Windows Explorer.
