/My Documents folder hard drive portable from PC to PC?

Is it possible to take a NTFS formatted hard drive with only the /My
Documents folders in it (Win XP) from computer A and physically move it to
computer B and still be able to read the files on the second computer. (Note
that I only have the /My documents folders on the hard drive that I want to
move from pc A to pc B.)

I didn't know if there is a index table of some kind that possibly resides
in another folder that I would need to read the /My Documents folder on the
pc B.

The real problem with what you are asking about is, "What happens when you
log into one of these systems without the drive attached?"

You might consider synchronizing instead.. Something like:

Hi Chet,

No reason you can't do that (and you have the slash in the wrong direction,
it should be \My Documents). The only glitch you may run into is ownership
issues, as the folder "belongs" to a user in a different installation, but
that is easily resolved.
