Nothing to do with Word -- when your computer is unattended for some
specified amount of time, it goes into "hibernation" mode, and what
that means for programs that were running at the time presumably
depends on the manufacturer. If you walked away from your computer for
that long amount of time without ever having saved your document, you
were asking for trouble.
