My desktop.....

It is empty, my icons are gone, there is no start menu etc... Any idea's
what happened to it? all there is is my walpaper... I finally hit a short
cut key and was able to get to my computer, i could get to control panel, but
am only able to do certain functions. Any idea's?????

Open Task Manager and go to File>New Task (Run) and then type in:

explorer

Okay hate to sound stupid, but where do i find task manager, i have limited
ability to access stuff so i'm having a hard time.

hi,this happened to me as well,seems every time i log on,i know there;s
something wrong with it, i don't know much about computer,i just press
ctrl+alt+delete,go to windows task manager, click shut down, log off, and i
just log on again,then it backs normal,i know it sounds silly but at least i
can use it before some one can helps me!
Is any one could help?

Have u tried the following:
Icons not seen:
Right click on the screen,go to -arrange icons by...then tick show
desktop icons....your icons should come back .
start menu bar :
open task bar and start menu properties--tab -taskbar...then un tick auto
hide task bar.
it worked for me
