My Control Button

Hi
Everytime I press my control button on my keyboard, a ring starts to "zone
in" on the mouse showing where it is. How do I make this stop? Also, I was
wondering how to turn "hotkeys" on (the one how you get there from F12 but
F12 on my copmuter is disabled for some reason)

For the mouse:

Start\Settings\Control Panel\Mouse\Pointer Options
Uncheck "Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key"

Open Control Panel, open the MOUSE window,
In the " Pointer Options" Tab, the last line unmark it.
