Last night I noted that I am receiving address bounce backs on messages sent
by others through my machine. How do I stop or slow this from occuring is
there an outbound filter or rule I can add?

It sounds like your PC is infected with something nasty. Solving this with
an Outlook rule is not a solution but rather a poor bandage. You need to
find and remove the bot or whatever malware it is that has taken control of
your PC. And then assess your anti-virus and anti-spyware stratgey. Do you
have one? Is it always up to date?

How do you know they are going through your machine? Have you read the
headers of the bounced messages to see where they originated?

Most likely is that your email address was lifted from somewhere, be it a
web site, someone elses email address book, and it has been disseminated to
a group of computers that have been hacked to send spam.

I would still agree with Tim that you should run a virus scan, and maybe a
spybot search and destroy and lavasoft ad-aware scan, but I have my doubts
that your machine is the actual source of the email messages, but instead,
it is simply your email address that is being used by someone else.

Believe me, I get them all the time and I haven't had a(n accidental) virus
on a computer since the mid 90s.

Are you sure the spam emails are originating from your machine, or
is it just a situation where the spammer is using your email address
as the 'From' address? Some if not all of the bounce notices should
show the full headers of the problem email. By studying the 'Received'
headers you can tell if that email really originated from your IP.
