My computer is color blind

it more of a nusance than a problem. My computer displays red as black, green
as yellow, purple as blue, i think orange as yellow (hard to tell). However
its not the monitor, when i click the menu button on the monitor it displays
a menu showing all the colors. And i went to display and settings in the
control panel and it only has High (24bit) and medium (16bit) each of which
only show the colors black, blue, yellow, and white. I would greatly
apperitiate it if some one kmew how to fix it. It gets very troublesome when
playing games and movies. However they only affect the looks of them, they
still play perfectly.

Download and install the latest drivers for your video card.

Simple (though tedious) process of elimination:

Restart the computer in Safe Mode. If this solves the problem, your
video driver is corrupted. Download and install the latest version from
your video card manufacturer's web site. If you still have the problem
in Safe Mode:

Shut down the computer, unplug your video cable at both ends and
re-plug. If this solves the problem, your video cable had a loose
connection. If you still have the problem after replugging:

Shut down the computer and use a different video cable. If this solves
the problem, your original video cable needs to be replaced. If you
still have the problem with a different video cable:

Shut down the computer and use a different monitor. If this solves the
problem, your original monitor needs to be replaced. If you still have
the problem with a different monitor your video card needs to be replaced.
