My computer icon

Hi all. The problem I'm having is that I don't have a -my computer option in
my start menu. Any other comp I have worked with had one but this one
doesn't. Is there some way to add one? I tried putting one on the desktop by
right clicking, going to properties, desktop, customize desktopgeneral, but
the my computer option is grayed out, i can't choose it. Could you help me
please? The only way i can access my drive is by right clicking the start
button, but that doesn't work when i am trying to get a file from a program.

Open a run Command and type in:
gpedit.msc click [OK]
On the group Policy locate this option under:
[&] User configuration
[+] Software Settings
[+] Windows Settings
[+] Administrative Templates
[+] Windows Components
[$] Start Menu and taskbar = Look in the Right Pane/window something
like:
Remove All programs list from the start menu
Remove Access to the context menus for the taskbar
Remove Programs on Settings menu
[+] Internet Explorer
[+] Application Compatibility
[+]Internet Control Panel

Note you can do any changes unless you are logged as administrator.

It's under User-Configuration\Desktop, Right side, "Remove My Computer icon on the
Desktop"

or from Registry-

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\NonEnum
Right side, delete : "{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}"
Then restart the shell (explorer.exe)

Good Luck, Ayush.
