I my excel spreadsheet I have a column for zip codes/postal codes. And since
I collect both US and European addresses, I formatted the cell for "General".
But when I have a zip code that the first number is zero, I lose the zero
when I either save or move to the next cell. Help?

This newsgroup is for questions about Access, the database product that's
part of Office Professional.

You'd be best off posting your question to a newsgroup related to Excel.
However, try putting a single quote in front of the zip code to ensure that
it's treated as text, not numeric.

General is a "number" format type and as a number 0 [zero] at the
beginning has no meaning. Why not use a text format, after all all zip
codes US and international are text and not numbers.

Sorry. This is a newsgroup dedicated to questions about Access, the
database program in Office Professional. It appears your question may not
be related to these subjects. The Microsoft help system is not all that
clear and may have misdirected you here.

It is best to ask your questions in a newsgroup dedicated to the

your problem there.
