My blank document in word isn't blank, help!

Can someone please help me??? Everytime I try to open a new "BLANK DOCUMENT"
it pulls up a letter I did on 05/23. When I look at the properites on it, I
see that there is no MCS Name, Dos, no created date, NOTHING. I'm not that
computer literate, but I assume that has something to do with why my blank
document in Word, is no longer blank! HELP!
