My animated gif don't work once they are in the site. Any ideas?

Why are you using Frames for your site? Not needed, imo.

The gif is no longer animated thats why it's not working. Did you use
Publisher to generate this site?

You've also got some java applet running.

I do not see it animated in IE6 or NS 7. Did you work on the image? Did
you use any of the FrontPage image tools to do anything to the image once
you imported it into FP? If so, the animation is broken. You have to use a
GIF Animator tool to break the frames apart, and then put them back
together.

I appreciate your help! I am still a newbie at this stuff and trying to help
a friend with his site. Could you explain more about why I don't need
frames? Also, what does the applet that is running do? Sorry about the dumb
questions!

I didn't do anything to the GIF once it was imported. What do I need to do
and how do I do it? I am still really new at this stuff! Thanks for your

The are confusing to the user you only see the main url in the address
bar...you can't bookmark easily, if you navigate to a site via a search
engine you may get only one frame....and on and on. They should be used only
when necessary.

Dunno what the applet is.


You should consider renaming all files that have spaces in their names (they
will appear as %20) this will cause problems on unix servers. Your animated
gif has space in the file name. You can use underscores _ if you want. Also,
stick to lowercase names too.

Try going back to a working version of the animation. I assume just
the dog is animated and he has been pasted into the background which
contains the text? If that is what you did, the animation would have
stopped working at that point.

An animated GIF consists of several frames like a movie. If you try to
cut and paste it you will only be cutting and pasting the first frame,
so it won't play.

I just opened the image in my GIF animator..it is *not* animated. It only
has one frame.
