I recently installed my scanner which is a Mustek 1200 UB. I installed
while I was in the administrator account. It works perfect in that account.
When I logged off and tried to use it in one of the limited accounts on
mycomputer, it comes up with a dialog box saying "The scanner is not
connected. Please check the cable". My question is how do I get it to
workon the limited account?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can come up with a solution for this
problem.

Try temporariy changing the limited account to a Computer Administrator,
set up the USP scanner using that account, then set it back to a Limited
account and see if it works.

Also, I'd run a chkdsk /f to clear any possible security descriptor
errors in the file system. I've seen "unused security desriptor" errors
cause similar problems with some software. Not sure how it will effect a
hardware access issue but it certainly couldn't hurt to run it anyway.
